the perspective of make believe people by brookeshaden on Flickr.

When I was in San Francisco over the weekend I saw this bed while hiking in the beautiful redwood forest. It was out in the garbage pile at someone’s home so I decided to squeeze it in the car for the ride home. There was also a bed frame that didn’t match the bed you see here, and while we tried for 30 minutes to get it in the car it just wouldn’t fit. So I created a makeshift bed from the other parts, and here we are. A bed that was too heavy for little me to carry but at least I didn’t have to drag it too far.
When I think of characters I like to think that they truly do live in their own worlds. Who is to say this character doesn’t live her life like this, with the floor being a wall and the air being her floor? This is why I love self-portraiture. I can put myself in the world I wish we lived in.
